Personal Reflection: Eduardo Aguilar

The contents in my part of the portfolio where a split between my group members in which I received the aspect of ecosystem, I was then responsible for researching into my aspect for my group. In terms of my interest along the process of the STF was always growing, my previous STF focused on recycling and when I saw Samuel’s STF about Light Pollution I was very intrigued.

I conversed with Samuel this year in which we concluded I would be a perfect candidate to focus on the aspect of “ecosystem” for Light Pollution. For the rest of our group they were split up into the different aspects of light pollution such as animals, economy, human health, and ecosystems.

During the research process I found myself questioning why this topic was not very spoken about, I learned many new things that light pollution causes to our environment that I would've ever thought. I never really struggled with this portion of the portfolio, I found it easy using notecards to keep all my information clean which made me very confident with the data I collected I would ask questions and converse with my group every meetings (wednesdays) we had to make sure we were on the same page.

Once I had finished my research I had concluded that Light Pollution affects our surroundings both living things and the environment itself, which I decided to make that my main claim for my research.

After my research I wrote my articles in which I focused on a solution to light pollution for both my articles I made them fictional, The creativity really sparked after all the research and discovering that this a very disregarded topic my group is focusing on which has kept me inspired throughout this STF.

To sum up my portfolio I’m glad I was in a aspect in which I can say I enjoy to look into. I found my team working very well although we are a big group we managed to complete a lot of work, I hope this is how it continues to be throughout our STF process.
